A perfect family spot
Carlsbad is such a chill and clean city, perfect for a family getaway. The downtown area in the Village has so many cute shops and good spots to eat. It feels safe and very walkable, and everything is just so close to the ocean. A really relaxing place.
So much for the kids to do
Brought the kids down for a spring trip and it was a huge success. Obviously, LEGOLAND was the main event and they had a blast. But the whole area is just easy with children. The beaches are great, and finding food everyone likes was never an issue.
Absolutely beautiful scenery
We came specifically to see The Flower Fields and they were just stunning. The colors are incredible, and it's a great way to spend an afternoon. The rest of the city has this nice, laid-back coastal feel. Very picturesque and less hectic than other spots.
Great winter beach escape
Carlsbad has some wonderful public beaches that are perfect for just walking and enjoying the view. Tamarack Surf Beach was our go-to spot. It wasn't overly crowded in the winter, and the sunsets were fantastic. A great place to unwind and escape the cold.
Awesome golf weekend
Came for a golf trip and the courses did not disappoint. The Crossings at Carlsbad has some amazing ocean views right from the fairways. The weather was perfect for February. Found some great seafood restaurants for dinner in the evening too. Solid trip.
Great area for a stroll
Spent a few days just exploring the shops and cafes around State Street. It's a very pleasant area to just walk through. The fish tacos from the local spots are a must-try. Everything felt very fresh. An easy place to just relax and explore on foot.
